This month I've been a beauty slacker, it got hot and I felt grose. Not the best excuse to be a big slacker on my blog though. It makes me a little less guilty saying I do this all from my iPhone since my laptop took a crap on me, and I hulked the cord ripping it apart out of anger... Not a fine moment.
But I do have favorites of this month!!
* My lush bath bomb was a godsend after a hard jog earlier this month. I bought a few a couple months ago and accidentally bought two avobath bombs... But I think there my fav.
*I switched up my foundation and went back to my winter color 110 in mayeballine's fit me. I'm still to white for Revlons ColorStay.
*I love my debottled UD Primer potomac, the consistacy once I depoted it became a love.
*My MAC Fix+, enough said.
*MAC blush in Dolly Mix.
I'm on the hunt for a new brown fell liner, I love my DuWop linnet but it's almost gone. I can't decide if I wanna splerge and try fluid line by MAC or if I should hunt. I don't do black because of how tiny my eyes are, but I like a deep rich brown.
I got a sample of Tarts Amazonian Clay foundation that I'm going to try.
Till next time, Katie

Current Makeup Loves
I'm the worst blogger, ever. Well maybe. I started a full time job back in late February so thats where I've been, submerged in technology and IP addressed and what it takes to connect a Internet TV to the Internet. But in the last few months I've acquired a few new make up loves, even though I spend more days without makeup lately than with...just saying...
*I caved and went against my initial plan to repurchase my MAC foundation, and got Revlon colorstay. I was surprised at how much I really love it!! That applied with a flat top foundation brush. Fabulous!
* I got one of Maybelline Bouncy blushes in Hot Tamale... Those feel so cool! And the color is perfect for this time of the year.
There are a few things I want...always. When you fall in love with makeup it seems like you can never have too much. I really want Benifits new foundation, tried that on and wore it for a whole day, amazing coverage and it LASTED all day. And the lightest color was perfect for my sadly pale skin.
I miss my MAC MSF, sad day for sure when that hit pan completely. Almost cried. Then there is my almost gone HG highlighter from MAC Belightful, I hit pan and am currently on the last leg of the remaining outsides.
Till next time,
Katie

Wedding Day 1-28-12
Rachel(bride) First thing Saturday morning at 6:30 a.m. My blank canvas
First step...after clean face, MOISTURIZE
Foundation.
After applying foundation, getting an even skin tone.
Crazy looking....the start of contouring. this is a cream that I blended out. To make it last longer through her day I did cream products then powder.
Filling in/ fixing her brows. she 'over plucked' so I extended the one side to even them out.
After brows are filled in
Putting translucent powder under her eyes to catch any fallout from her eye makeup.
She gets a kick from this, one eye showed up better than the other.
Simple, neutral tones. I wanted to enhance what she had, so we kept it simple.
Blend, blend, blend.
Liner for the top, to help make her lashes look fuller.
Dusting off the powder, it wouldn't make for the best pictures...
I entrusted her to put on mascara. I was running a lash comb through them to separate and remove any clumps.
Nearly finished face...stick to the end and you can see it all.
The start of her hair.
Almost done with the first section.
Finished face
Back of her hair
Finished face, eyes closed
CLOSE UP

Tips: Something a girl can never have enough of
So! After more than a week with a down computer, plague of who knows what. It's up and running, almost like new.
In commemoration of it running, I thought I would share a few tips. Tonight Jaycie and I threw a bachelorette party for Rachel, I spent the night helping girls with facials and doing mani's. The biggest thing I have to say is that I love sharing what I know with other people and doing it too. There was a good turn out for our "spa" themed girls night. We played 'I never' with soda, did facials, complete with cucumber slices, manicures...and all around I think for a first, it turned out good.
Tips:
*Number one thing to do, start with clean hands.
Too many times this step is forgotten, and oil's and germs are transferred from hands to face. If your prone to forgetting, keep hand sanitizer with your makeup. this will limit the amount of germs your transfer.
*For an easier application apply moisturizer before your foundation. This helps hydrate your skin.
*NEVER EVER...EVER use blush to sculpt your face.
-To slim your face Contour, there are so many YouTube videos on it.

*When purchasing a foundation is important to learn your skin under tone, if you’re a yellow base or a pink base…or you might just be somewhere in the middle. Picking a foundation is tricky and most of us at one time or another have or will have bought the wrong shade and ended up with the ghastly line at your jaw that tells the world “Hi I’m wearing makeup!” when matching foundation NEVER compare it to your arm, this is exposed to the sun and more often than not, not nearly as protected from the UV rays. Match foundation to your neck, this will help prevent that ghastly line.

*Remember for long lasting makeup set, anything that is a liquid set with
a powder. This will prolong wear.
-Primers help big time,
there are primers for it all, face, eyes and lips. I recommend at the very
least a face and eye primer. Face primer help keep oils at bay and smooth fine
lines and pores. Eye primers help keep shadows from creasing and prolong wear
as well as boosting pigmentation of shadows.
*When concealing under eyes that are dark think of a color wheel, what
cancels out blue? Red, so go for a salmon colored concealer to mask the dark
circles under your eyes.
*To conceal red spots from acne, or areas around the nose that might be
red, go for a green concealer. The thought might be scary and slightly
intimidating, but the green will cancel out the red and you won’t be able to
see it…unless you apply to liberally…
*Eyeliner- Never apply too dark of a liner, or too much it can make your
eyes look small.
-to whiten the white of
your eyes apply a white kohl liner to your lower water line.
-to open your eyes/make
them look larger apply a peach toned kohl liner to the water line, and a light
champagne shadow to your inner corner.
(Kohl Liner is a type, and it’s more popular and easier to find. It’s a
softer pencil which is nicer to your eye area. You want to avoid too much
pressure and tugging in your eye area since this can cause wrinkles.)
***hands down I would recommend a gel liner and a good brush to apply it.
Pencil can be tricky, although is more common they can smudge easily when you
don’t want them too. Liquid isn’t goof proof and the smallest mistakes can be
harder to remove, and most likely require makeup remover to remove. Where gel
is easy to work with goof proof for the most part and can last longer than most
when set with a shadow.***
*Mascara should be replaced every three to six months depending on the
expiration date stamped on the bottom. Using it past expiration date can up
your chances of eye bacteria that can be harmful. It also becomes dried out
after a certain time.

This
is what it should look like, this means from the day that you opened the
product; you have that many months till it needs to be thrown out. In this case
it shows you that it’s good for twelve, or a whole year.
*Don’t ‘pump’ your mascara. Years
ago this was the huge thing to pump the wand up and down. DON’T do it, this
creates air pockets inside the mascara tube that cause it to dry out, and makes
application harder.
*NEVER share mascara or eyeliner. This can pass along bacteria or cause
new to grow. You might end up with a nasty one and not know how. Professionals
use the persons own mascara, or disposable wands that are NEVER double dipped.
It’s the same for liner; if it’s used by someone else it’s sharpened and
sprayed with alcohol to kill bacteria before use.

Jaycie 1-05-12
This is my bestie. Jaycie. She let me borrow her face while we were waiting on Rachel to arrive so I could paint her nails. (Another love of mine, although I'm a pure amature and just love doing it for fun.) The pictures were taken on her webcam and uploaded, so the lighting wasn't the best, but what I did was a brow/bronze smokey eye.
Rachel- Bridals 01-6-12
This is Rachel, she's an awesome new friend I made through Jaycie. She asked me to get her ready for bridals, as well as on her wedding day. She is getting married January 28th.

Lindsey 1-3-12
This is Lindsey, she is my best friends littlest sister. She's almost 12, I wanted took keep is simple, and age appropriate due to her age. This is a little of her while I was messing around.
This is the Before
This is after, I liked how this turned out. It's still a makeup look, but it's more age appropriate.
